A new ownership structure at HPT
Dear customers and business partners,
A new year has begun and we therefore wish you all the best, good health, success and happiness.
With the start of a new year comes the start of a new era for our company, namely a change to the shareholder structure at HPT in the first quarter with effect from January 1, 2015.
Now that HPT Pharma Packaging, which was founded here in Neuhaus as a spin-off of the Heinz Group in 2002, has successfully developed into a high-performing development and production partner for plastic packaging in the pharmacy and diagnostics markets, the Heinz family has decided to give up this high-growth and capital-intensive market segment in order to concentrate fully on its traditional core business, the equally capital-intensive international manufacture of glass for cosmetic products.
The Heinz family and the HPT management board agreed that the right partner from the numerous interested parties was the medium-sized, globally active Röchling Group (1.3 billion turnover; 8,000 employees), which, like Heinz, is family-owned. With its wide range of plastics processing technologies and products, Röchling is active in a variety of different markets and is pursuing the strategic goal of building up its health care division through organic growth and acquisitions. Röchling has numerous production facilities throughout the world. Following an extremely intensive due diligence process, Röchling is also convinced that HPT is the right partner for the implementation of this strategy.
Many important synergies have also emerged for HPT, because, for example, production locations in markets such as the USA, India, China or South America, which would previously have been very difficult or impossible to manage on our own, have now become feasible. HPT is therefore increasingly able to move closer to its internationally operating customers in terms of its location. The capacity expansion in Germany will also be easier to realize as part of the Röchling Group. We should not overlook the access to further interesting processing and finishing technologies.
What will now change for you, for our business partners?
In principle, apart from a gradual alteration of the external image while retaining the HPT Pharma Packaging brand name, nothing will change. The production location in Neuhaus (with companies HPT, KIV and NMV) is not in question. The management board and all your familiar contacts will remain the same. The entire management team has supported this shareholder structure change process and is optimistic about the future.
We ask you to continue to place your confidence in the HPT Pharma Packaging brand as a company of the Röchling Group and are looking forward to a successful future together, in which many more opportunities than before will be available to us.
We would be pleased to discuss the current situation with you in person and are available to answer your queries at any time.
Best regards from Neuhaus,
HPT Hochwertige Pharmatechnik GmbH & Co. KG
